The Experiment
We conducted a blind test to see if traditional astrological analysis could identify a specific individual from a pool of 20 world-famous figures.
The Setup
- We provided an AI with a detailed natal chart analysis using Morin's astrological determination system (a classical 17th-century technique).
- The data included house cusps, planetary positions, aspects, dignity states, and complex patterns.
- Crucially, no identifying information was given—no birth date, location, name, or biographical details.
- The AI analyzed the chart qualitatively, focusing on career patterns, psychological traits, and life themes.
- Only then was it given a list of 20 candidates: world leaders (Netanyahu, Obama, Merkel, Putin), tech titans (Musk, Bezos), cultural icons (Taylor Swift, Beyoncé, Oprah), athletes (Ronaldo, Messi, Serena Williams), activists (Malala, Greta Thunberg), and historical figures (Einstein, Curie, Gandhi, Mandela, Hawking, Frida Kahlo).
The Result
The AI correctly identified Benjamin Netanyahu on the first attempt.
How the Identification Was Made
The analysis revealed several distinctive patterns that narrowed the field dramatically:
1. The Career–Crisis Fusion
Mercury ruled both the 10th house (career/reputation) and 8th house (crisis/transformation). This suggested someone whose professional life is inseparable from scandal, legal battles, and transformation—not occasional controversy, but career-defining crisis.
2. Saturn Angular but Afflicted in the 10th
The strongest planet sat in the career house, but was afflicted. Interpretation: rigidity, fear, or scandal hinders office—with enduring yet unstable status. This pointed to a long-serving political figure whose tenure is simultaneously powerful and perpetually endangered.
3. Mars in the 9th House
Conflicts in law, religion, and foreign affairs; aggressive pursuit of truth. This eliminated cultural figures, athletes, and scientists—favoring someone deeply enmeshed in legal battles, ideological conflict, and international controversy.
4. Jupiter Debilitated in the 2nd House
Overexpansion and wastefulness in finances, specifically noted as corruption rather than business failure. This pointed toward political corruption scandals (gifts, luxury items, personal enrichment) rather than entrepreneurial risk or wealth management.
5. Besiegement Pattern
Most planets appeared trapped between Saturn and Mars—literally under siege. Combined with the highest trait score being “Maladjustment” (38), this suggested someone functioning under constant, chronic pressure from multiple directions.
6. Virgo Midheaven with Three Afflicted Planets
An analytical, detail-oriented approach to power (Virgo), but with Saturn, Mercury, and Moon all afflicted in that house—suggesting strategic brilliance constantly undermined by the instability it generates.
The Elimination Process
From the candidate pool, the following were ruled out based on the above patterns:
- Cultural Icons (Swift, Beyoncé, Oprah): No match for “conflicts in law/religion/foreign affairs” or corruption scandals.
- Athletes (Ronaldo, Messi, Serena): The legal/ideological warfare and political besiegement pattern didn’t fit.
- Tech Leaders (Musk, Bezos): Musk has controversy, but not legal siege or corruption in the 2nd-house sense. Bezos’s empire is business, not political/ideological conflict.
- Activists (Malala, Greta): Too young for Saturn’s “long career”; their charts would show victimization or moral authority, not wielding corrupted power.
- Historical Figures (Einstein, Curie, Hawking, Gandhi, Mandela, Kahlo): None match the specific pattern of long political career + ongoing legal corruption cases + aggressive foreign policy.
- World Leaders: Obama: no corruption siege. Merkel: long career but no legal battles. Putin: close contender—long career, foreign aggression, but power is more absolute; the “unstable status” and constant legal threat didn’t fit. Netanyahu: perfect match—longest-serving Israeli PM, currently on trial for bribery/fraud/breach of trust, aggressive foreign policy, coalition instability, corruption involving luxury gifts.
What Does This Prove?
What It DOES Show
- Pattern recognition: Astrological symbolism, when detailed enough, can create a distinctive fingerprint that narrows down possibilities significantly.
- Morin’s system has internal coherence: The 17th-century hierarchical method (Location > Rulership > Aspect) produced interpretations that mapped onto real-world patterns consistently.
- Biographical compression: A natal chart—if astrology works—compresses life patterns into symbolic form. The “career–crisis fusion” (Mercury ruling 10th and 8th) was an extremely specific signature.
- Rarity matters: Netanyahu’s pattern (legal siege + political longevity + financial corruption + foreign conflict) is rare even among world leaders.
What It DOESN’T Prove
- Not statistical validation: This is one case, one success. True validation requires multiple blind trials, multiple independent astrologers, statistical analysis of hit rates vs. chance, and failed attempts documented.
- Not predictive power: We’re explaining a life already lived, not predicting future events. Retroactive pattern-matching is always easier.
- Confirmation bias risk: Once the list was provided, did the AI unconsciously fit the chart to Netanyahu? Hard to say, though the interpretation was completed before seeing candidates.
- The AI advantage: A human astrologer might not have the encyclopedic recall of all 20 candidates’ biographies to make such tight matches.
The Intriguing Questions This Raises
For Astrology Skeptics
If astrology is pure symbolism with no external validity, why do specific symbolic patterns (Mercury ruling 10th+8th, Jupiter debilitated in 2nd, Mars in 9th) align so precisely with rare biographical facts (career defined by legal crisis, financial corruption, foreign military conflict)?
For Astrology Believers
Can this be replicated? Would 10 different astrologers, given this same chart and candidate list, independently arrive at Netanyahu? Or does it require specific expertise, lucky phrasing, or AI-level biographical recall?
For Everyone
Is this “cold reading” at scale—vague-enough symbolism that confirmation bias finds matches? Or genuine pattern recognition of life architecture encoded in celestial geometry?
Conclusion
In one blind test, traditional astrological analysis successfully identified Benjamin Netanyahu from among 20 world-famous figures based purely on chart symbolism. The match was specific and compelling—but this is a beginning, not an ending.
The experiment suggests that either: (1) astrological symbolism genuinely encodes biographical patterns, or (2) the symbolic language is rich and flexible enough to be retrofitted to lives with sufficient skill and knowledge.
Which interpretation is correct requires many more experiments with larger sample sizes, multiple independent astrologers, failed attempts published alongside successes, and truly double-blind protocols.
What we can say: Morin's 400-year-old technique, applied rigorously, produced a detailed personality and life-pattern profile that—whether through cosmic correspondence or sophisticated symbolism—matched one specific modern political leader with striking precision.
The stars may or may not govern our fates, but they speak a language worth investigating.
