Core Workflow

# Transits

Use Transits to find strong transit windows for a birth chart: scan a date range, read the timeline and its peaks, run the predictor, and inspect the exact transits at one moment.

Uses / depends on

Birth data or saved chart

Transits can work from typed birth data or a saved chart, depending on how you want to anchor the birth chart.

## Opening Transits

In Astro Clock, click **Transits** in the Timing group of the Tools bar. The tool opens in its own window; close it with the close button or press Escape.

## What This Tool Can Use

**Chart source** has two options:

- **Enter birth data**: type the birth date, time and place
- **Saved chart**: use a chart you saved in Astro Clock

With **Saved chart**, the birth-data fields are ignored and the chosen saved chart is the birth chart for every scan, prediction and exact-time check.

## Screen At A Glance

Legend

- **Chart source**: **Enter birth data** or **Saved chart**

- **Choose saved chart**

- **Refresh** and **Clear**

- **House system** (Regiomontanus)

- **Transit date (optional)**

- **Transit time (optional)**

- **Residence for returns (optional)** and its time zone

- Close button (or press Escape)

## Choosing The Birth Chart

### Enter Birth Data

Type the **Birth date**, **Birth time** (local time at the birthplace), **Birthplace** and **Time zone** (an IANA name such as `Europe/London`).

### Saved Chart

- Pick the chart from **Choose saved chart**.
- **Refresh** reloads the list of saved charts.
- **Clear** removes the current choice.

This is the easiest way to reuse the same birth chart across repeat transit work.

## Setup Fields

- **House system** is fixed to Regiomontanus.
- **Transit date** and **Transit time** are optional. They are used by **Compute exact time**, and to centre a scan when no range is set. Times are in the chart's time zone.
- **Residence for returns** and **Residence time zone** are optional. Solar and lunar returns are cast for the birthplace; Morin casts them where you live, so enter a residence to use it.

After **Compute exact time**, or a click on a peak, **Solar revolution** and **Lunar revolution** cards show the return in force, its themes and how far it supports the period.

## Filters

![Annotated Transits filters: sensitive and focus houses, sensitive and focus planets, optional layers and Find windows](/assets/img/docs/astro-clock/astro-clock-transits-filters-v320.webp)
Figure 2. Filters, optional layers and **Find windows**.

Legend

- **Sensitive houses**

- **Focus houses**

- **Sensitive planets**

- **Focus planets**

- **Include**: optional layers

- **Find windows**

- **Sensitive houses** add those house cusps as transit targets, with quick picks for None, Angles (1/10), Angular or All.
- **Focus houses** make hits to natal points in those houses score higher.
- **Sensitive planets** choose which planets count, with None, Classical or All.
- **Focus planets** (comma-separated) make hits involving those planets score higher.
- **Include** turns on house cusps, antiscia, the Part of Fortune, transiting modern planets and natal modern planets.

## Context Windows

**Find windows** suggests primary direction, progression and solar arc windows. Under **Context windows** you can:

- choose the **Layers**: **PD** (primary directions), **Prog** (progressions) and **SA** (solar arc)
- turn on **Use context windows in scan & predictions**, so only times inside every enabled window count
- edit each window's start and end, or **Clear context**

Primary directions use Regiomontanus with planetary latitude, direct and converse, with the Naibod key counted from birth. Solar arc and progressions are optional layers outside Morin's method.

## Scan Window

Figure 3. Scan range, actions and the timeline.

Legend

- **Scan range**

- **Step (minutes)**

- Quick picks for the step

- Actions: **Scan window**, **Use intersection**, **Compute exact time**, **Run predictor**

- **Timeline**

- **Context emphasis**

- **Top peaks**, each with **Use**

- Set the **Scan range** start and end, or use **Next 7 days** or **Next 30 days** at the top of **Scan window**. Leave both blank to scan a day around the transit time.
- **Step (minutes)** sets how dense the scan is; the form tells you about how many scans that makes per day. Smaller steps give more points, larger steps move faster through long ranges.

## Main Actions

- **Scan window** scans the range and highlights strong windows.
- **Use intersection** narrows the scan range to the overlap of the enabled context windows.
- **Compute exact time** checks the transit date and time entered above.
- **Run predictor** groups the range into support windows and peak timestamps.

## Timeline

After a scan:

- click a bar in the timeline to see that moment under **Exact time**
- peak outlines mark representative rows, and rings mark critical rows
- **Context emphasis** reshapes the timeline when context windows are active
- **Top peaks** jump straight to the strongest moments; **Use** sends that time to the main Astro Clock

**Critical signals in scan** lists any crisis-type signals found in the range, with their top scores and times, and a table lists each scanned time with its top hits, tags, predictions, tone, score and count.

## Predictor Results

Legend

- Percentages are rule-concordance scores, not probabilities

- A support window and its theme

- Window support, density, score and rule concordance

- When it is strongest, and the transit behind it

- **Peak timestamps**

- **Use** sends a peak to the main Astro Clock

## Exact Time

Figure 5. A selected moment under **Exact time**.

Legend

- **Exact time**

- Tone, score and hit count

- **Critical signals** at this moment

- Area and topic tags

- **Show technical tags** and **Show extra keywords**

- The evidence table

The evidence table shows, for each hit, the transiting body, the target, the aspect, the 3D and longitude orbs, the phase, the direction (dexter or sinister), the timing window, the life area, the event or theme, and keywords. The Morin 3D orb includes celestial latitude; the longitude orb drives the timing estimate.

## Practical Workflow

- Choose **Enter birth data** or **Saved chart**.
- Set any filters that matter for the question.
- Click **Find windows** if you want the timing layers.
- Set the scan range and step.
- Click **Scan window** and look at the timeline and its top peaks.
- Click a peak, or use **Compute exact time**, to read one moment in detail.
- Click **Run predictor** for grouped support windows over the range.

## Notes

- A saved chart is optional here.
- The same saved chart can drive the scan, the predictor and the exact-time check.
- Saving a birth chart once in Astro Clock is the quickest way to keep transit work consistent across sessions.
