# Trait Profile

Use Trait profile to read a chart as a structured profile: constructive, style and strain traits, themes, life topics, house influence and active points.

[Back to Astro Clock docs](/docs/astro-clock/)

Uses / depends on

Current or saved chart

Trait profile reads the chart in Astro Clock, or a saved chart you choose in its Chart source.

## Before You Start

Trait profile opens from the People group of the Astro Clock Tools bar, in its own window. Close it with the close button or press Escape.

- **Chart source** chooses the chart: **Current** reads the chart in Astro Clock, and **Saved chart** reads a chart you pick from the list.
- If Astro Clock is in Realtime, it pauses the live chart while Trait profile is open, so the profile is built from a stable moment.
- The line under the title shows the chart's date, time and place, the planets used and the house system.

## The Tabs

- **Overview**: the profile balance, the trait signature and the top constructive, style and strain traits
- **Themes**: every trait, grouped by theme, with a search box
- **Life topics**: profession and health, and the strongest influences on each house
- **Points**: the chart's active sensitive points

Click a trait, topic, house or point to open its page. **Back**, or the trail above the page heading, takes you back.

## Sorting And Filters

**Sort** orders traits by **Score**, **Name**, **Polarity** or **Supports**. **Show top** sets how many traits each column shows (3, 5, 6, 8 or 10).

**Filters** narrows **Overview** and **Themes** without changing the chart. **Life topics** and **Points** always show the whole chart.

- **Relative score**: All, High, Moderate, Low or Minimal
- **Polarity**: All, Constructive, Style or Strain
- **Themes**: choose themes, or use **Select all** and **Clear**

If a filter leaves no traits, the window says so and lets you reset the filters.

## Overview

**Profile balance** places the chart between strain and constructive on a 0-100 scale. It comes from the ten strongest constructive and strain traits, so **Show top** doesn't change it. The **Trait signature** sums the profile in one line, such as "Mutable Water profile led by Versatility; Quarrelsomeness is the main strain", followed by the temperament, modality, sect and chart ruler.

Below that, three columns show the **Constructive** (what strengthens), **Style** (what flavours behaviour) and **Strain** (what creates strain) totals and their top traits. Each trait shows its relative score, how many of its supports the chart meets, and the group it belongs to.

Scores show how much of each trait's own rules this chart meets, weighted by how many rules back the trait (0-100). A trait backed by only one or two rules cannot reach the top of the scale, and traits that test the same chart pattern appear once in each column. They are relative scores, not probabilities.

## Life Topics

Legend

- **Where the chart pulls in life**

- **Profession**, with its house and sign

- The topic in one sentence

- **Lead**

- **Presence**, **Governance** and **Aspect** shares

- **Open Profession**

- **Health**

- **Where each life-area pulls power from**

- A house's lead, then its strongest influences

### Topics

**Where the chart pulls in life** reads each topic's houses in Morin's order: an occupant leads, otherwise the rulers, and aspects to the cusp are testimony. **Profession** starts from the 10th house and **Health** from the 1st. Each topic names its house and sign, sums up the reading in one sentence, names the **Lead**, and shows how much of its strength comes from presence, governance and aspect.

**Open Profession** or **Open Health** shows the whole topic:

- the **Lead**: the strongest planet and why
- the **Route**: how it reaches the topic
- the **Pressure** or **Support**: the aspect that presses or helps the matter
- the main contributors, the supporting and conflicting evidence, related traits and the houses the topic reads

**Show calculation** opens the arithmetic behind the topic. Health also has a **Map** choice: **Constitution** or **Strict illness map**, which narrows it to illness.

### House Influence

**Where each life-area pulls power from** lists, house by house, the four strongest influences: occupants first, then rulers, then aspects to the cusp, each with its strength and keywords. Click a house, such as **H1**, for its presence, governance and aspect testimony, each with a **Breakdown** of the calculation.

## Points

**Points** lists the chart's active points, such as midpoints near planets, with the planets they hit and how strongly. **Subject sex** (Unspecified, Male or Female) changes points that depend on it. **Point details** shows more about a point.

## Reading Trait Cards

**Themes** lists the themes on the left; pick one to see its traits, grouped by subtopic. The search box finds traits by name, keyword or subtopic, **Show all traits** lists every trait, and **Show specialised themes** adds Health and body, Risks and life patterns, and Chart signatures. Each trait shows:

- the trait name and its score out of 100
- its relative score band
- how many supports the chart meets
- the group it belongs to

Click a trait for its page: the rules the chart meets, the houses and planets they use, and the trait's theme and keywords.

## Copy AI Prompt

**Copy AI prompt** copies an analysis prompt built from the current Trait profile: the chart, the filters and the results. On a trait's page, **Copy trait prompt** copies that trait only. To copy a prompt for a particular saved chart, choose that chart in **Chart source** first.

## Practical Workflow

- Choose **Current** or a **Saved chart**.
- Read the profile balance, the trait signature and the three columns on **Overview**.
- Use **Filters** to narrow by score, polarity or theme.
- Open **Life topics** for the houses behind the traits.
- Use **Themes** for the full list.
- Use **Copy AI prompt** to continue the analysis elsewhere.

## Notes

- Choose the chart in **Chart source**, or load a saved chart in Astro Clock before opening Trait profile.
- Filters can leave no results for some charts and theme choices.
- The profile combines chart metrics, house influence and source-aware weighting; it is broader than a keyword list.
