# Saved Charts

Use Saved charts (formerly Saved snaps) to keep a chart from Astro Clock, load it again later, search older charts, and reuse the same chart across the deeper Astro Clock tools.

Uses / depends on

Central dependency

Saved charts (formerly Saved snaps) sit at the center of the Astro Clock workflow and carry a chart into the deeper tools.

## Why Saved Charts Matter

Saved charts connect the main Astro Clock workspace to the tools that need a stable chart.

They are not screenshots. A saved chart is a stored chart record that keeps:

- the chart's date and time, and its time zone
- the place and its coordinates
- the summary shown in the list
- the chart data the other Astro Clock tools read
- any special degrees that were active when you saved it

That is why a saved chart can be analysed again later, not just looked at.

Legend

- **Saved charts** (click the title to collapse the tile)

- **Refresh** and **Search**

- The chart's name, place, date and time

- Planetary hour, Moon sign and sect

- Row actions

- **Load** and **Delete…**

## How To Save A Chart

Click **Save chart** in the chart tile, above the wheel.

- Vox Stella saves the chart Astro Clock is showing, in Realtime or Manual mode.
- A notice confirms the save, and the new chart appears first in **Saved charts**.
- The list shows the chart by its place, date and time.

## What The List Shows

Each row can show:

- the chart's name, when it has one, then its place, date and time
- its time zone
- the planetary hour ruler, the Moon's sign and the sect (Day or Night)
- a status such as **Needs review** or **Possible duplicate** when one applies, or a **Birth-time check** result

The summary comes from the saved chart itself.

## Refresh, Load And Delete

### Refresh

**Refresh** reloads the list. If saved charts haven't loaded yet in this session, the tile says so and asks you to click **Refresh**.

### Load

Open the row's action menu and choose **Load** to put that chart in Astro Clock.

When you load a saved chart, Astro Clock:

- switches to **Manual**
- restores the chart's date, time, place and time zone
- restores the special degrees saved with it
- refreshes the workspace from that chart

This is what makes a saved chart usable everywhere else in Astro Clock.

### Delete

**Delete…** asks you to confirm, then removes the saved chart from this computer.

### Charts That Need Review

Older saved charts that lack a confirmed time zone or place show **Needs review**. Choose **Correct context** to confirm the details; Vox Stella keeps the original for history and saves a corrected copy, which you can open with **Load corrected copy**.

## Search Mode

Click **Search** to switch the tile into search mode. **All charts** switches back, and **Clear** empties the search.

The search box reads "Search label, planet (e.g., Sun Leo H10), or aspect (e.g., Moon trine Venus)". Search looks through the full saved chart, including:

- names and places
- sect, sect light, planetary hour ruler and Moon sign
- each planet's sign and house, such as `Sun Leo H10`
- aspects from the chart's main aspect list, such as `Moon trine Venus`

Every word you type must match. An empty search lists the first saved charts.

## Where Saved Charts Are Used

### Required

- **Synastry** compares two saved charts.
- **Astrocartography** needs a saved birth chart.
- Two-person and founder **Election** methods use saved charts for each person.

### Optional

- **Transits** can use a saved chart instead of typed birth data.
- **Election** can add natal context from a saved chart.
- **Trait profile** and **Forensic** read the chart in Astro Clock, or a saved chart you pick in their own chart list.

## Storage

Saved charts are stored locally on this computer in the app's data folder. They are application data, not a cloud account feature.

## Practical Workflow

- Hold the chart you want in Astro Clock.
- Click **Save chart**.
- Use **Refresh** if you want to confirm the latest list.
- Use **Load** to return Astro Clock to that chart.
- Use **Search** to find an older chart by place, aspect or planet position.
- Load the chart, or pick it in the tool, before opening Synastry, Astrocartography, Transits, Election, Trait profile or Forensic.

## Notes

- Saved charts are chart records, not images.
- Loading a saved chart switches Astro Clock to Manual.
- Search matches chart content, not just names.
- The list belongs to this computer and this app installation.
