# Forensic

Use Forensic to run a rule-based forensic reading of a chart, review its findings, work through the investigative sections, add symbolic local-space bearings, and copy a brief or export a report.

[Back to Astro Clock docs](/docs/astro-clock/)

Uses / depends on

Current or saved chart

Forensic reads the chart in Astro Clock or a saved chart you choose, and adds the case type and local-space layers on top.

## Before You Start

Open Forensic from **More** in the Astro Clock Tools bar. It opens in its own window; close it with the close button or press Escape.

- **Chart** chooses the chart: **Current chart** is the one in Astro Clock, or pick a saved chart from the list. **Reload saved charts** refreshes the list.
- If Astro Clock is in Realtime, it pauses the live chart while Forensic is open.
- Everything Forensic shows is a symbolic astrological reading. It is not evidence and must not be used for identification, search deployment, accusations, or safety and outcome decisions.

## Screen At A Glance

Legend

- **Chart**

- **Reload saved charts**

- **Case type**: **General** or **Child**

- Chart source, planets, houses, findings and axes

- **Case actions**

- Section tabs, with the number of rules that fired

- **Survivability rule band**, with its rule score

- **Relationship signature**

- **Violence indicators** and **Deception indicators**

- **Review the cues**

- **How the band is derived**

- **Directional findings**

- **Finding notes**

## Top Controls

### Case Type

**Case type** is **General** or **Child**. It changes how the victim significators are framed.

### Case Actions

The **Case actions** menu (the three dots) offers:

- **Copy brief**: copies a structured, auditable brief of the rule output to the clipboard
- **Export PDF**: exports the current forensic report
- **Include local space**: adds the local-space bearings to the reading, the brief and the report, and opens the **Local space** tab
- **Case data**: adds the raw case data to the brief and opens the **Case data** tab

### Limits

Under the indicators, the window notes that bands, scores and labels are symbolic rule totals, not probabilities.

**Copy brief** and **Export PDF** both carry the full limits: do not use this output as evidence or as the basis for identification, search deployment, accusations, or safety and outcome decisions, and do not infer identity, physical or behavioural profile, guilt, real-world location, or survival or outcome probability.

## The Sections

Forensic is organised into tabs. **Findings**, **Deception** and, when witness rules fire, **Witnesses** show how many rules fired, for example **Findings · 8**.

- **Findings**: the astrological indicators, directional findings, finding groups, finding notes and 4th-house indicators
- **Victim**: victim analysis
- **Counterpart**: 7th-house counterpart signals
- **Relationship**: relationship signals
- **Witnesses**: witnesses and accomplices
- **Deception**: deception configuration
- **Local space**: symbolic place keywords and the local-space compass
- **Case data**: the raw case data

### Findings

**Astrological indicators** summarise the rule output:

- the **Survivability rule band** (a symbolic rule band, not a probability), with its rule score
- the **Relationship signature**
- **Violence indicators** and **Deception indicators**: each shows every rule that fired, for example "8 fired", with a plain split such as "1 main signal and 7 supporting cues". **Review the cues** opens the Deception tab.
- **How the band is derived**: what the band comes from, including how much light mediation moves the score and whether it changes the band

Supporting cues, such as Mercury retrograde, turn up in many ordinary charts, so they are listed but do not move the band.

**Directional findings** list the **Case axes** the main signals point to, and **Finding groups** count all fired rules by category. **Finding notes** list each rule that fired, highest weight first, with its category and weight; a supporting cue is marked **Supporting cue**. **Show all** lists every rule, and clicking a rule shows its rationale and evidence.

**4th-house indicators** read the IC and the 4th house: the primary analysis points and which traditional readings apply.

### Victim Analysis

The victim significators from the case type, the Moon's condition, angularity, dignity and danger notes, and the survivability basis.

### Counterpart And Relationship Signals

The 7th-house counterpart signals and the relationship signals between the significators.

### Witnesses And Accomplices

Additional people and witness signatures, with their house and planet groupings.

### Deception Configuration

Figure 2. The Deception tab, with one supporting cue opened.

Legend

- **Deception** tab, with the number of rules that fired

- Why supporting cues don't move the band

- **Main signals**

- **Supporting cues**

- A rule opened to show its rationale and evidence

- **Case actions**

**Deception configuration** lists the deception rules that fired for this chart in two groups, **Main signals** and **Supporting cues**, each rule with its weight. Supporting cues, such as Mercury retrograde, turn up in many ordinary charts, so they are listed but do not move the band. Click a rule to read its rationale and evidence.

## Local Space

Figure 3. The Local space tab after computing bearings.

Legend

- **Symbolic place keywords**

- **Origin latitude** and **Origin longitude**

- **Compute bearings**

- **Symbolic signals**

- **Traditional near/far symbolism**

- **Local-space compass (symbolic)**

- The compass

- **Bearing sources** and **Show back-azimuth (+180°)**

The **Local space** tab replaces the old abduction view.

- Open the **Local space** tab, or choose **Include local space** in **Case actions**.
- The origin starts at the chart's place. Keep it, or enter another **Origin latitude** and **Origin longitude**.
- Click **Compute bearings**.

The coordinates only set where the local-space azimuths are computed.

- **Symbolic place keywords** come from traditional house and sign meanings: the symbolic signals and the traditional near/far symbolism. They are not a location estimate.
- The **Local-space compass (symbolic)** draws each significator's bearing on an abstract compass. It is not a map: no distance, place or location is implied.
- **Bearing sources** list each bearing with its azimuth, compass direction, altitude, house and sign, and **Show back-azimuth (+180°)** adds the opposite direction.

## Practical Workflow

- Choose the chart, or load it in Astro Clock first.
- Open **Forensic** from **More**.
- Choose the **Case type**.
- Read the astrological indicators and finding notes.
- Work through Victim, Counterpart, Relationship, Witnesses and Deception.
- Use **Local space** only when the case needs the symbolic direction layer.
- Use **Copy brief** or **Export PDF** once the reading is where you want it.

## Notes

- Forensic reads the **Current chart** or the saved chart you choose.
- **Case data** changes what **Copy brief** includes.
- The compass and bearing sources appear once you compute the bearings.
- All output is symbolic: bands, scores and labels are rule totals, not probabilities, and none of it is evidence.
